The Ministry of Finance, together with the Center for Development of the East Planning Region, organized an Information Event for the announced Public Call no. second MSIP 02/2018 for submission of requests for use of funds from the Second Municipal Services Improvement Project.
The subject of this announcement is the provision of financial support in the form of sub-loans to the units of local self-government designed to improve the level and quality of municipal services and basic infrastructure in order to improve the transparency, financial sustainability and the realization of the targeted municipal services in the municipalities -partners. The funds earmarked for this purpose under Component A “Municipal Investment” are in the amount of 8 million euros.
Within this financial support, provision of sub-loans for the municipalities intended for financing investments in the field of water supply and sewage, road infrastructure (including construction and rehabilitation) and other investments that have the potential for generating revenues, ie achieving savings in the communal services or in other areas of high priority for the participating municipalities.
The types of investments include water supply, sanitation including small water treatment plants, solid waste management, improvement of energy efficiency of municipal facilities, local roads, markets, street lighting, atmospheric sewers and rehabilitation and limited construction of schools, kindergartens and other institutions for early childhood development.
The loan agreement for the Second Municipal Services Improvement Project (IBRD – 8156 MK) was financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – World Bank, Ministry of Finance.
