In order to get to relevant information that will enable private sector growth in the East Planning Region, the Business Center for support and consulting services for small and medium enterprises within the Centre for Development of East Planning Region on 10th February 2016 held its sixth informative event . Theme of the event titled “SME PROJECTS WITHIN THE PROGRAM HORIZON 2020” was the EU Horizon 2020 program.

Present 40 representatives of micro, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs, local authorities, NGOs and foundations, unemployed, craftsmen, traders, members of clusters and networks, economic operators in the region, regional chambers of commerce, potentially interested foreign and domestic investors were informed for:

  • Why the European Union is implementing the program Horizon 2020;
  • What does the program of private sector;
  • What are the objectives of the program Horizon 2020;
  • How is realizing the program Horizon 2020;
  • What are the priorities and overall budget;
  • How to apply for Horizon 2020;
  • Overview of simplified procedure for applying;
  • Criteria for awarding the Contract for financing the project;
  • Examples of implemented projects – EU and Macedonia.

In addition, participants received these information:

  • how to gain access to information about the programme;
  • how and where to monitor calls;
  • where to find templates for project documentation and
  • where to look for partners for proposals.

Shared information attendees gave directions for reflection and action in the field of research and innovation, with the ultimate goal of economic growth, creating jobs and competitiveness.

This informative event was organized within the project “Establishment of Business Center for support and consulting services for small and medium enterprises in the East Planning Region” which is technically and financially assisted by the Ministry of Local Government and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
